This document is in response to the OMG Real-Time technologies RFI (ORBOS/9609-02). It is intended to provide responses to Requirements, Approach, Categories, Architecture and Technology aspects for integrating real-time technologies into OMG’s CORBA. This response is based on work done in the ReTINA ACTS project (project AC048) which purpose is to develop a flexible, real-time ORB, and on the technology available with the CHORUS/COOL ORB product from Chorus Systems. It is aimed at influencing the OMG standardization process so that it takes into account the requirements of distributed real-time embedded systems, in particular for telecommunications applications. note: This RFI response has been submitted to OMG by Chorus Systems and France Telecom.
